Downtown Joliet Christmas Tree Lighting and Lighted Holiday Parade

Downtown Joliet will ring in the holiday season with a Christmas tree lighting, a lighted holiday parade, an ice sculpting demonstration from Joliet Junior College's award-winning culinary arts students, and much more on Friday, November 25th, 2011.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Joliet Area Historical Museum will welcome the holiday season by offering free admission and free refreshments.  From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. students from the Joliet Junior College culinary arts program will carve ice sculptures outside the museum.
From noon to 4 p.m. the Joliet Park District & Forest Preserve District of Will County will be providing free children’s activities and games at the Joliet Junior College Renaissance Center. Activities include decorating your own reusable bag, pine cone ornaments and spin the wheel for a prize!
The Joliet Christmas Tree will be lit at 5:15 p.m. at the Van Buren Plaza with Mayor Giarrante, the Joliet City Council and the University of St. Francis.  Following the tree lighting, the lighted Holiday parade will kick off at 5:30 p.m..
