The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce will host a lighted holiday parade and a day of holiday cheer on Saturday, November 26, 2011. The parade will begin at 5:00 p.m., leaving from the Wilmington Middle School parking lot and continuing down Ryan and Water Street north to the Post Office.
In addition to the parade, The Mar theatre will show a holiday movie in the Mar's upstairs theatre at 2:30. The Business Person of the Year will light the community Christmas Tree in Claire’s Corner at approximately 5:30 p.m.. Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa Claus in the Santa house parked near Water and Van Buren beginning immediately after the tree lighting. Afterward, revelers can cross the "Bridge to Christmas" (the millrace walkbridge) to visit the community Christmas in the Park on the North Island Park.
