Illiana Corridor Public Meeting to be held tonight in Matteson

The Illinois and Indiana Departments of Transportation have scheduled a public meeting tonight to present the Illiana Corridor Study Schedule, Planning Process, and to seek input from the public regarding the Illinois Corridor Study Schedule.

The meeting will be held tonight, June 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Matteson, Illinois.

There will be a Power Point presentation, exhibits related to the Illiana, and attendees will have a chance to meet 1:1 with Illinois Department of Transportation and Indiana Department of Transportation study team representatives.

Information for individuals with disabilities who will attend: These meetings will be accessible to handicapped individuals. Local VFW Post Joins Work to Keep Gemini Giant in Wilmington

The Wilmington VFW Post is joining the local effort to keep the Gemini Giant in Wilmington.  The statue is up for online bid at the Grafe Auction website . Wilmington's VFW Post 5422 posted to their Facebook page on March 8, 2024 that: " The Wilmington VFW Post 5422 along with Save the Gemini Giant have teamed up to make an effort to keep the Gemini Giant in Wilmington and relocate it 1 mile west on Route 66 to the VFW.  We need your help.
