Representative Kinzinger Holding St. Patrick's Day Card Drive for Illinois Veterans Home of La Salle

Spread some St. Patrick's Day cheer and join Representative Adam Kinzinger's card drive.  Check out the details from press release announcing the drive:

"OTTAWA, IL – As we get ready to spring ahead, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) will hold his annual St. Patrick’s Day card drive for the residents of the Illinois Veterans’ Home of La Salle. Members of the community are welcomed and encouraged to participate in celebrating the ‘Luck of the Irish’ with our local heroes by sending cards or letters to share gratitude and appreciation. In making the announcement, Congressman Kinzinger released the following statement

“This year has been another challenging one, but hope is on the horizon. Our elderly population has been at the most risk from the coronavirus, and while we begin to emerge from this isolated time, we cannot forget how important it is to stay connected. Technology is great, but letters and cards are so meaningful and a special way to honor all those who have served and sacrificed to defend this great nation. Let’s celebrate our veterans and recognize their unwavering dedication to our country and communities by sharing our thanks and good wishes this St. Patrick’s Day.

“As the Irish saying goes, ‘A kind word never broke anyone’s mouth.’ So please join me in writing to our hometown heroes. I thank you all in advance for your help in making this card drive—my last as your Congressman—an extra special one.”

For those interested in participating, please mail your cards, letters, Irish blessings or proverbs to the Congressman’s Ottawa office at 628 Columbus Street, Suite 507, Ottawa IL 61350. If you’re in the area, please drop it off at the office during normal business hours. The collection deadline will be end of the business day on Friday, March 11, 2022, and the cards will be delivered to the veterans a wee bit after they’ve been cleared for safety precautions. If you miss the deadline and want to submit online, please see here.

For any follow-up questions or clarifications, please contact the Congressman’s Ottawa Office at (815) 431-9271 and a member of the staff will be available to assist."
