Textile, Shoes, and Household Item Collection Event at Will County Office Building
The Will County Building's Parking Lot in Downtown Joliet will host textile and household goods collection event from May 08, 2023 - Friday, May 12, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The County Building is located at 302 N. Chicago Ave. in downtown Joliet.

"Textile Collection at the County Office Building PARKING LOT Monday through Friday during normal business hours. This event will accept clean clothing, blankets, tablecloths, linens, drapes, towels, shoes, and more. Bring items for reuse and recycling. See Scott Slocum from WJOL AM1340 on Friday morning 5:30am-9:00am. Small home goods in working condition will also be accepted each day.
Recycle old shoes, clothes, and other textiles at the County Office Building PARKING LOT Monday through Friday during normal business hours in cooperation with Helping Hands. Helping Hands supplies thrift stores with a wide selection of must-have secondhand clothing keeping more than millions of pounds of reusable goods from reaching landfills each year.
This event will accept the following clean items in good or torn, stained and poor condition:
Clothing, Coats, Shirts, Pants, Dresses, Skirts, Jackets, Sweaters, Shoes, Boots, Sneakers/Gym Shoes, Socks, Hats, Neckties, Gloves/Mittens, Drapes, Curtains, Table linens, Bedding, Sheets, Pillow Covers, Blankets, Towels, and fabrics of any kind.
Items with mold, mud, or other dirt will NOT be accepted.
Each day a Helping Hands truck will be onsite in the parking lot with a table where clothing and small home goods such as small furniture, resuable CDs, Books, Movies, Paintings, Photo Frames, Plates/Dishes, Utensils, working small appliances and other reusable home goods may be placed. Social distancing and masks will be in use due to COVID-19.
On Friday morning from 5:30am to 9am the WJOL Morning Crew will be broadcasing the AM1340 Morning Show live from the front entrance! Drop-off a few bags of items from your de-cluttering efforts and get a shout out over the radio!"
