Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park Reports Retaining 37 Jobs Through Federal PPP Loan

On July 6, 2020, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Treasury Department released the names of small businesses who received loans from the Payment Protection Program in amounts between $150,000 and $350,000. Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park, Illinois received a loan in that dollar range and reported the loan allowed the business to retain 37 jobs.  To view data for all Illinois businesses, go  here .  According to the Small Business Administration:  "The Paycheck Protection Program is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. SBA will forgive loans if all employee retention criteria are met, and the funds are used for eligible expenses. Click  here  to read more about PPP loan forgiveness."

Orland Park, Illinois Mayor Keith Pekau Says "The State Has Failed Us", Calls for Activating Economy

Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau published a video address making the case for reopening the economy while allowing for voluntary social distancing.  Pekau stated the people of Orland Park have not had representation because the Illinois General Assembly has not met since the beginning of the crisis.  Pekau went on to say the State of Illinois has failed in terms of administering unemployment benefits and protecting people in long-term care facilities.  Watch Pekau's May 14, 2020 address:
