Plainfield District 202 Board of Education Fails to Adopt All-Remote Learning Plan to Begin School Year

At the July 20, 2020 Board of Education meeting, the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District Board voted 3-3 to NOT adopt the proposed plan for all-remote learning to begin the 2020 school year.  

 The Board directed staff to come back with another proposal

Several candidates opposed to the lithium battery plant under construction at the old Kmart warehouse in Manteno ran for elected office as part of the Freedom Party. According to unofficial results from the Kankakee County Clerk, the Freedom Party candidates are leading for the offices of Village President and Village Clerk, although there are many outstanding mail ballots and all results are unofficial until the County Clerk counts all mailed and provisional ballots.
