Plainfield School District 202 Board of Education to Vote on Return to School Plan

**UPDATE: Board vote 3-3, plan for all-virtual 1st quarter fails to pass**

A vote to approve the Remote Learning Plan for the 2020-2021 School year is on the agenda for the July 20, 2020 meeting of the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 Board of Education. 

 The Board heard a presentation on a plan to begin the 2020-2021 School year with all remote learning at its July 15, 2020 meeting.  

 The public can watch the meeting through Zoom.  The district's meeting notice states a large number of people are expected to attempt to access the meeting through Zoom.  Since Zoom meetings have a limit, the District says it plans to live-stream the meeting to YouTube for those unable to access Zoom.  Zoom info here.

Local VFW Post Joins Work to Keep Gemini Giant in Wilmington

The Wilmington VFW Post is joining the local effort to keep the Gemini Giant in Wilmington.  The statue is up for online bid at the Grafe Auction website . Wilmington's VFW Post 5422 posted to their Facebook page on March 8, 2024 that: " The Wilmington VFW Post 5422 along with Save the Gemini Giant have teamed up to make an effort to keep the Gemini Giant in Wilmington and relocate it 1 mile west on Route 66 to the VFW.  We need your help.
