Hollywood Casino in Joliet to Permanently Lay Off 145 Workers on September 15, 2020

According to the June Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act Report, Hollywood Casino Joliet will permanently lay off 145 workers as of September 15, 2020.

The Illinois WARN Act requires employers with over 75 full-time employees to provide the State with 60 days notice of mass layoffs. 

Illinois casino and video gaming operations were suspended on March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Casinos and video gaming operations were allowed to resume on July 1, 2020 in accordance with guidance issued by the Illinois Gaming Board.  The guidance prohibited certain activities due to health concerns until further notice, including buffets and valet parking service.
